Genevieve Irwin is an illustrator, painter, and art teacher based in New York City. She grew up in Connecticut alongside honeybees and miniature donkeys. Her family encouraged all forms of storytelling, from theatrical performances to the construction of gingerbread houses large enough to crawl inside. She received her BA from Princeton University and her MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts.
Drawing and painting are Genevieve’s way of understanding and celebrating the world. She is particularly interested in stories of everyday life and the relationship between animals and their ecosystems. When not in the studio, Genevieve can be found drawing on location, playing the piano, or baking bread.
